Nice Tent
After 20 years of use, my old tent had seen better days, so I started reading reviews and researching tents. I decided to purchase the Eureka! Copper Canyon 1512 tent. I really like this tent. It is very roomy (plenty of space for 4 cots and gear), easy to set up (20 minutes the first time, you need at least 2 people), seems well build and sturdy (haven’t experienced any bad weather in it yet), good ventilation (huge windows). I only have two negatives, #1 The floor material seems a little thin for my liking (sure hope it doesn’t rip) and #2 I wish Eureka! had used a different color material for the floor (I think the light color material will show the dirt).

copper cayon 15 x 12 tent
This tent was amazing! Purchased it for a March camping trip and it delivered! Huge storm blew in and tent held up just fine! It’s pretty easy to set up, has loads of head room for a 6ft. plus person and performed great! Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Family Tent
This is a very spacious family tent, and it is very ideal for a family with teenagers, as we can easily fit (1) queen and (2) twin matresses with plenty of room for gear and to move around without disturbing others. After the first set-up (which took about 20 minutes), subsequent set-ups are completed in less than 10 minutes! Still have yet to experience inclement weather in this tent, so I cannot really comment on its ability to keep out driving rain. Like most dome tents that have a vented ceiling (covered by a fly), ventilation is great, but forget about a space heater in cold weather – the heat will not stay in.

1 1/2 Years And Still Not Leaking Or Broken
I bought this tent for me and my husband in March or April of 2008. It has been everywhere. We love to camp, and do so frequently. We decided to get puppies (Great Danes) last year and they love the tent, too. Now at 150 lbs for Merlin and 95 lbs for Bella, you would think this would cause problems with the floor. Their paws don’t tear the floor. It is virtually indestructible. It has been through high wind. Pouring rain did not penetrate the walls. Raccoons haven’t broken in to get to the dog treats. I would buy it again and have reccomended it to several friends and aquaintances.

The only con to this tent is that my husband is too tall (6′5″) for the Canopy thingy outside that makes a kind of porch.

What more could you ask for?
Look at my profile to see pictures of this tent in use. It seems crazy, but we purchased this tent for a family of four. We wanted to all be on cots and we wanted to be able to have space for our dogs to go with us. We could not have been happier with the way this tent worked for our family. We had so much space for all of our cots, the dogs, a bin for some of our belongings and our clothing. There was still room for the kids to sit on the floor and play games. This would be really handy when it rains while camping. This tent was easy to set up. It took about 30 minutes, but we were dealing with high wind gusts. The wind gusts didn’t let up any time soon, so we used the 3 guy lines on the side of the tent that was getting the wind. We never had one issue or was worried about the tent coming down at all. The winds were reaching about 30-35mph. The people that we were camping with were worried about their tent falling over. We never had that concern. Things did seem to get a bit drafty, but the wind just would not let up, so I would have expected the same from any tent. The other family was putting a tarp over the tent to keep out some of the wind, so they must have had a lot more draft than we did. We were prepared for cold weather, so we all slept fine. The low temp was around 38 at night and we all slept o.k. With that temperature, you would expect to be cold, so we were prepared. I was a little worried that the floor would not hold up to much traffic, but it did fine. It does seem really thin compared to other tents we have owned. We put a blanket down at the entry that caught most of the dirt off of our shoes. I would like to have a bigger blanket to cover the whole floor just because it made it easy to clean the tent out. We put a tarp underneath and really didn’t worry much about it after that. There was no damage. We didn’t use the awning because of the time of the year it is right now. It would come in very handy over the door if the door is facing the sun at any point of the day. I guess the only issue we had (was more with the site and not the tent) was that the size of the tent was big for the site we were on. These campsites were set up with the fire ring on the tent pad. We would not have felt comfortable with having a fire that close to the tent. We ended up putting the fire on the other site since they had a smaller tent. I have seen plenty of campsites though that are not set up that way, so we won’t have that problem everywhere we go. To sum it up, the people we were camping with kept saying that they needed a tent like it. We are still amazed at how big this tent actually is. We started to buy the 1312, but could not find it for a lower price. We will find out next season if the size is that big of an issue, but for now our whole family was very happy with this tent including the four legged members. If you purchase this tent, I’m sure you will be happy with your purchase.

Solid unit!
Great rangefinder! It takes a little getting used to in terms of holding it steady enough to get an accurate reading, but that’s to be expected. If you play alot of courses where the sprinkler heads either are marker inconsistently, or, just never seem to be where you hit the ball, then this rangefinder is for you. The slope feature is not to be discounted–it’s a handy feature that will come in handy more than you think. As most courses I play have the GPS distance feautres located on the golf carts themselves, I won’t fear seeing the “no carts on fairways today” signs quite as much as I did previously; I’ll always have an accurate distance no matter where I am on the course.

Bushnell Pro 1600 Slope Edition Laser Rangefinder with Pinseeker
Product was exactly what I expected at a far better price than in the retail stores. It’s use takes a little bit of practice, but it is far handier than pacing off from yardage markers and trying to guess at where the pin is relative to the center of the green.

Great Product!!!
I am more than satisfied with this rangefinder. I must admit that I had some doubt about the usefulness of this product. I used it at some already familiar golf courses and I used it some Not so familiar coures. In both situations, I came to have a greater appreciation for my rangefinder. It’s very accurate, more so that any other GPS or rangefinders I used in the past. I wholeheartedly recommend this product to all golfers. It’s a little pricy, however.

Don’t Buy Amazon Combination Offer
I bought the combination offer of the rangerfinder and the case as advertised by Amazon and found out the rangerfinder had a case coming with it(identical). Now I have two cases. Also, in the combination offer, there is another type rangerfiner (sold by Beach Camera), later I found out they did not want sell it for the advertised price. Not for the combination prices, I would have not bought them on Amazon. Cheating is everywhere. Don’t buy on Amazon!

Steve from Muscle Shoals, Alabama
Great product…makes every golf course your home course. Ease of use, accurate and the slope function is a must.

Careful here, please read – good hardware that lacks good software
I’ve waited for a long time to buy me a handheld GPS. Finally I got the Dakota 20 at the REI Sale, last week. I was so excited – I hardly knew what I was about to go through.

I am not going to recapitulate here all the software hassle that I had to go through. I am a user interface designer and work with mac and pcs. I think I am pretty tech-savvy, but OMG. Nothing is intuitive or well explained when it comes to downloading / transferring maps to your device.

The navigation in the device could be much better (and that’s an extra chapter), but the software ordeal… is just unbelievable. Whay can’t Garmin just use ONE piece of software to make all the magic happen? Why isn’t there more info on the manual or online?

I could not install my 2 maps (kept on trying for hours), and after several attempts, I took it back to REI to return the product. There at REI a wonderful salesman told me to try a bigger SM card. Nowhere in the device or in the innumerate software did I had a hint of that. Unbelievable.

I so much wanted to keep my handheld GPS that I took the device back home after buying a 4G mini card. At this point I had developed a love / hate relationship with the thing.

I was planning to use it this memorial Day weekend, but I won’t. Why? The thing is stone dead.

I read several forum entries about re-installing the software. This happens because the software has not been updated. Seriously, Garmin – are you kidding? After I spent hours installing a bunch of software? Seriously???? I found out about this problem on a remote forum entry, and also after contacting Garmin. They sent me software to install on the device (PC-only), but in my case it didn’t work. And even if it did – who can guarantee that it wouldn’t happen again?

That sucks – big time!!! – and I am so upset and disappointed with this ‘toy’… I am really sorry, because I expected so much from it. There were even high moments in our relationship ;-) , like when I discovered that it ‘talked’ to my heart-rate monitor. I expected so much more from it and from Garmin (I have a GPS for driving which is pretty good, but it seems that the formula wasn’t repeated in the handheld product). Garmin should know that people that buy this kind of device are expecting something good – they might have awesome hardware, but it lacks good software.

I am going to return the product today.

Works well for geocaching
Have only used for geocaching but has worked well so far. My friends that I go with use an app on their iPhones and the distance seems to jump back and forth on theirs. This doesn’t happen on my Garmin Dakota. I can download caches from [...] or if I go on the fly with a friend and I am unprepared, putting in the coordinates is easy also. It stops and asks you to re-set the compass now and again and that may be because of the area I live in but it’s not a big deal when it does. Only takes a min. So far, so good.

Not impressed at all
I purchased this unit after reading all of the glowing reviews. We wanted to use it for geocaching but alas, the unit will not acquire satelites. It chewed up a set of lithium batteries and never did lock on. The instructions say that it might take a few minutes. How many are “a few”?

My Motorola Droid has a far better GPS system than this pile of junk.

Will be rturning for a refund.

Dakota 20
A very nice, compact and accurate unit. It is very easy to use and fulfills my needs perfectly.

Not all is completely glowing. For the price, it should come with maps. One more negative, it constantly drains the batteries even when it is off. I would suggest removing the batteries if it will not be used for more than a few days.

Good, but not great
After reading many positive reviews about the features and ease of the touchscreen but also about the visibility problems with the screen, I decided to take a chance and upgrade my aging monochrome eTrex Legend. After years of fumbling around with the tiny joystick and sidebuttons on the Legend, the touchscreen is a welcome change. If you’re familiar with the iPod touch, iPhone, or Garmin’s Nuvi automotive GPS units, then you’ll like the Dakota’s touch screen. It’s especially practical for typing names and coordinates. The screen redraws itself significantly faster than panning on my old Legend. I really like all the features. The 3 axis compass works very well. I didn’t think I needed that feature, but it’s turned out to be something I really like. I also like the profiles feature that lets you have a variety of settings for muliple activities. The geocaching feature is fun and easy. I take my kids “treasure hunting,” and they love how easy it is to use. All I have to do is download Geocache coordinates and the arrow points the direction to follow.

If many of you are like me, this would be a no brainer except for the visibility issues I kept reading about. There’s no question that the visibility is not as bright as I think it should be. However, I don’t think this issue should be a show stopper for many people. In direct sunlight I think the readability of the screen is good. Sometimes you have to tilt it slightly for the best visibility angle. However, the backlight is extremely weak, and here is where I see the problem. In night time lighting situations the backlight is adequate to see the screen. It’s those low light daytime areas, such as after the sun sets but before it gets dark, or under heavy tree cover in mid-day, where the sun isn’t there to illuminate the screen and the backlight isn’t powerful enough to brighten the screen that it becomes an issue. Because most people don’t hike much at night this isn’t really all that helpful. However, at no point is the screen unreadable, it’s just harder to see. I use my Dakota primarily for hiking, so I’m not constantly looking at it. Most of the time I can glance at it and read the maps or info quickly.

For me, the ease of the touchscreen outweighed the visibility concerns. It is disappointing that Garmin can’t or won’t fix this. I have two Nuvi units and neither of them have any visibility issues, so obviously it’s possible. Overall I’m happy with the purchase and don’t regret buying the Dakota, but if a bright display is paramount then you may want to look at other units.

CustomerReviews

Best rack for the price
I don’t think you’ll find a better new rack for the price. I’ve been using it for about 7 months now, and my only complaint is that it’s a little on the light side, and I could tip the thing doing pull-ups if I’m not careful. I “fixed” that problem by just loading up a bar and setting it on the back pins to balance the weight distribution. That’s really the only negative thing I could say about it. It’s strong, the hole spacing is great (found very comfortable squat and bench press settings for me), the pull up bar is perfect, the safety catches have convenient external pins, (great for pre-loading a deadlift or BB row so you don’t have to do it all on the floor) and the price is more than fair. Buy a pair of add-on dip handles from [...], and get a permanent marker to mark the hole spacings with numbers, and I think you’ve got the best entry-to-intermediate power rack on the market.

powerrack satisfaction
Needed a powerack…sorry, WANTED a powerack did some searching everywhere and I mean everywhere…Amazon.com and I never shopped here before, they delivered a great price for my perfect product. Nothing negative about it and it is exactly what I wanted, easy to assemble with two people. But I could see a challenge building it yourself!

Love it!
It’s a high quality rack and the core part of my home gym. Would recommend to anyone wanting to train at home.

Very nice rack for the price
The good:

- Heavy and very sturdy, no worries about it holding lots of weight

- Well built, welds are good, paint is good looking

- Lots of available accessories, includes a chin up bar

- Price is awesome!

- Nice quality pins to hold bar support and safety bars

The bad:

- The safety bars are painted, which means that every time your bar hits it or you adjust them, you lose paint. They include touch-up paint, but that’s a losing battle. Chromed safety bars would have been MUCH better. Rubber grommets, at the very least, would have been nice.

- NO INSTRUCTIONS and NO TOOLS PROVIDED. You will need a tool set, preferably with a good socket set, and an extra pair of hands helps a lot.

- It’s about half the depth of most cages I’ve used. Not as big a deal as it seems at first, actually good in some ways, but worth mentioning.

- The holes in the cage are NOT marked in any way, which makes lining up the safety bars a pain sometimes. Tape and a sharpy or a good label maker are needed to fix that.

- Because it’s a little less deep than normal, forcefully placing a loaded bar on the holders can shake and move the rack a bit if it is not bolted down or somehow counter-weighted (like with a rack-mounted plate holder).

- Shipped by a trucking company, and was a day late (par for the course with freight companies in my experience)

Overall, it’s still the best rack I’ve seen at this price.

It’s tougher than you think
I’ve seen an older version of this rack with 1000+ pounds on the bar for Squat and DL lockouts. This rack is tougher than you might think.
